Following their acclaimed Aparté releases of Bellérophon, Phaéton and Amadis, Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques continue their revival of Lully operas with Armide. On Channel Classics, Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra continue their Mahler cycle with the Symphony No.3. Making their harmonia mundi début, François-Xavier Roth and his period instrument ensemble Les Siècles perform Ravel’s ballet Daphnis and Chloé. Also on harmonia mundi, Andreas Staier and Alexander Melnikov perform Schubert piano duets, Graham Ross and the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge perform Josquin’s Missa Pange Lingua, baritone Matthias Goerne sings Schumann songs, pianist Javier Perianes performs Schubert sonatas and soprano Carolyn Sampson is accompanied by the Freiburger Barockorchester in a selection of Bach Cantatas. On Onyx, pianist Shai Wosner presents a thought provoking and highly original program of Impromptus and Dejan Lazic pays tribute to the legacy of Franz Liszt. On Orange Mountain, Kristjan Järvi leads the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra in an orchestral arrangement of Philip Glass's ballet Aguas da Amazonia, and on Rubicon, violinist Giovanni Guzzo performs Ysaÿe’s Six Sonatas. In popular music, Le Chant Du Monde presents a five-disc anthology of Charles Aznavour and Edition Records offers new jazz from pianist Alexi Tuomarila and bassist Misha Mullov-Abbado. Lastly, we welcome Atlas Réalisations, a new label from legendary producer Craig Leon. The label’s first release is Demolition 9, featuring new music by electronic music pioneer Martin Rev.
