Stephen Layton Leads Polyphony In Highlights From The American Choral Repertoire
Available July 10th, Polyphony and Stephen Layton present highlights from the choral repertoire by four twentieth-century American giants: Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and Randall Thompson. Framed by Thompson’s understated favorites Alleluia and Fare Well, the program includes Bernstein’s Missa brevis, motets by Copland and — of course — Barber’s inimitable Agnus Dei.
Read behind the scenes as Polyphony Tenor Oliver Jones talks about recording American Polyphony.
"Stephen Layton’s Polyphony are an always impressive choir of startling purity and clarity."
June 29th at Carnegie Hall, Layton conducts the International Festival Chorus & Orchestra at the inagural gala benefit concert for Yale's Center for Music and Liturgy Saint Thomas More Chapel. He returns to the U.S. in September 2015 with The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge.
